QA Inspector (Quality Assurance Inspector)

The QA Inspector ensures that all ship repair, maintenance, and conversion work meets established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role involves inspecting materials, components, and completed work to verify compliance with ABS, USCG, and other maritime standards.
### **Key Responsibilities**
- **Inspection and Verification:** Perform inspections on structural, mechanical, and electrical work during various stages of ship repair.
- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- **Compliance:** Ensure adherence to company quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- **Testing:** Conduct dimensional checks, weld inspections, and other quality tests as required.
- **Reporting:** Communicate findings to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
### **Qualifications**
- **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in QA or maritime standards preferred.
- **Experience:**
- **Minimum:** 2-3 years in quality assurance or inspection in a shipyard or industrial setting.
- **Preferred:** Experience with ABS, USCG, and ISO standards.
- **Skills:** Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers); strong attention to detail.
- **Certifications:**
- TWIC card required
- Welding inspection certifications (AWS/CWI) or NDT Level I/II preferred
