Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Overtime as needed)

Position Overview

A well-established building automation and controls contractor is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support the installation, commissioning, and service of commercial and industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, hands-on field experience, and solid troubleshooting skills across HVAC and building controls environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test control wiring for sensors, actuators, and panels
  • Commission and troubleshoot building automation and DDC systems
  • Load and modify control programs under the direction of senior engineers
  • Verify and document system operation and testing results
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical or communication issues in the field
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and control drawings
  • Calibrate control devices to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain safety compliance

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience with building automation, HVAC controls, or electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of DDC controls, electrical principles, and low-voltage wiring
  • Proficiency with test instruments and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to interpret electrical prints and control sequences
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, or similar platforms
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or LON protocols
  • Tridium Niagara N4 certification or equivalent a plus
  • Background in HVAC service, commissioning, or networking/IP systems
