Operator Technician III - Silverhill - Baldwin County Commission

About the position

Responsibilities

• Operate a minimum of eleven types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, bulldozers, and backhoes.
• Perform maintenance inspections on assigned equipment and notify supervisors of any failures.
• Assist in the training and oversight of Equipment Operators I and II.
• Perform complex operations using heavy equipment for construction and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine manual labor as needed, including clearing brush and repairing roads.
• Monitor equipment gauges and indicators for non-standard conditions during operation.
• Assist with mechanical repairs and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate complex machinery such as motor graders and bulldozers.
• Strong leadership skills to train and supervise other operators.
• Basic math skills for measuring and reading equipment gauges.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.
