Job Description
The HIPPY Home Visitor supports and encourages families enrolled in Coastal Family Partners’ (CFP) Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program. This individual enlists parental involvement throughout a 30-week educational program; works with parents to assess their families' needs; provides referrals to enhance family well-being; and regularly inputs family progress within a computer database. The Home Visitor also facilitates positive relationships with parents, coworkers, and other key stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow home visiting standards (e.g., HIPPY Model) to ensure compliance with program regulations.
- Review program materials to stay informed about requirements and components.
- Assist parents in understanding program progress and explain assessment outcomes clearly.
- Complete and organize enrollment paperwork in accordance with program procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, family files, and parent participation records.
- Participate in weekly role plays to support lesson plan implementation.
- Conduct weekly home visits with assigned parents.
- Guide parents in role-playing materials to enhance engagement and learning.
- Listen to parents’ concerns and provide appropriate referrals to support services.
- Manage work environment and meet deadlines in alignment with program expectations.
- Support family recruitment efforts in South Mobile County.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new procedures.
- Must be proficient in using basic office equipment, including a computer, Microsoft Office Suite and other basic software applications.
- Fluency in the English language.
- Ability to communicate the program to parents, community members, and co-workers
- Physical, sensory and cognitive abilities sufficient to perform essential functions.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least three years of experience working with children and families in a professional capacity.
- An associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and own transportation required.
- Must be 21 years of age and insurable through the employer's non-owner's liability insurance.
- Additional on-the-job training provided.
- CPR/First Aid Certificate within 60 days of hire
Background Requirements: Must be able to pass the program's background screenings/clearances.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening upon hire, and annually.
- CA/N
Willingness to travel
Up to 25-50% (Required)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: This position requires sitting, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting (up to 15 pounds), talking, finger dexterity, hearing and visual acuity. The employee must be able to travel in all types of typical weather conditions.
Work Location: Hybrid remote/office.
We will provide a laptop and other necessary equipment. Employees will need a dedicated home office space with a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a workspace free from distractions.
This is a grant funded position and subject to change or termination based on the availability of funding. Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
